A cleaner bottle is something you might put away after every use. Flutter Labs founder Monika Gawlowska wanted one people would be happy to leave out, with the ingredients and fragrance receiving the same attention as the design.
“Growing up in Europe shaped my appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and the importance of creating a beautiful home,” Gawlowska said in a follow-up to Debjo’s Boutique. “I would also love to emphasize that Flutter Labs is an independent, founder-led brand proudly created in the Hamptons.”
“I felt there was room for cleaning products that could be effective, thoughtfully formulated and beautiful enough that you wouldn’t want to hide them under the sink,” she said in the original interview.

Ingredients and fragrance
“Flutter Labs was born from my desire to bring together effective cleaning, thoughtfully selected plant-based ingredients, beautiful essential-oil fragrances, and elegant design,” Gawlowska said. The description is her formulation philosophy, not an independent assessment of the products’ performance.
“Scent has always been very important to me,” she said. “I have loved beautiful fragrances since I was a little girl, but as I learned more about the ingredients used in many conventional fragrances, I began looking to nature instead.”
Her target was a fragrance that stayed pleasant after the cleaning was done. “I wanted the cleaner not only to do its job beautifully, but also to make the entire room feel better after you use it, without leaving behind an overwhelming fragrance,” Gawlowska said.
An everyday place to begin
Gawlowska offered this introduction in her final follow-up: “For those discovering Flutter Labs for the first time, the All Surface Cleaner offers a beautiful introduction to the collection, combining effective everyday cleaning with the refreshing aroma of Pink Grapefruit.”
For a first bottle, read the product’s ingredient information and the surface-care directions. “As with any cleaner, I recommend testing it first on a small, inconspicuous area, particularly on delicate, specialty, unsealed or unfamiliar surfaces, and always following the surface manufacturer’s care instructions,” Gawlowska said.
The surface check gives her design idea a practical starting point. Choose a cleaner that fits the care instructions for the surface, then consider which fragrance you want to bring into the room.
