BeachsideBeads brings Long Island’s coastal colors into everyday jewelry

A seafoam-colored necklace doesn’t have to wait for a beach day. For BeachsideBeads founders Maddy and Sara, the Long Island coast supplies colors they want people to keep wearing through the year.

The coast was there before the shop

“BeachsideBeads started from our shared love of jewelry, creativity, and the ocean,” the founders said in emailed answers to Debjo’s Boutique. “As two college students, we wanted to turn something we loved doing into something we could share with others.”

“What started as a fun passion project has grown into a small business that allows us to bring a little piece of the beach to others through our handmade designs,” they said.

What the water contributes

The connection to Long Island runs through the materials and palette. “Being surrounded by beaches, ocean views, and coastal towns influences the colors, textures, and styles we choose for our jewelry,” the founders said. “We love incorporating soft blues, seafoam greens, pearls, and beachy details that capture the feeling of being by the water.”

“We want our pieces to feel effortless and timeless, like something you’d wear all summer and keep reaching for throughout the year,” they said.

Start with the clothes you reach for

Asked where a new customer might begin, the founders chose one piece: “We’d recommend one of our seafoam-inspired necklaces!”

“We love pairing it with a simple white tank, linen button-down, or an oversized sweater and jeans,” they said. “It’s an easy way to add a little beachy feel to any outfit, whether you’re heading to the beach, grabbing coffee, or going out with friends.”

For a first piece, picture what you’d wear with it tomorrow. The founders’ suggestions leave room for a sweater as well as a summer shirt, giving the coastal colors a place in the clothes you already reach for.
